Fishing for rights – In Telangana, Tribal Welfare and Fisheries departments are helping the indigenous communities earn a living with the help of fishing. 61 tribal fisheries cooperative societies have been formed within the last year.
Holistic Education – The Supreme Court has declared no school can be without a playground setting aside a 2015 order by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which allowed encroachment upon the land meant for a school playground in a Haryana Gram Panchayat.
Women Empowerment – Surekha Yadav, Asia's first female loco pilot, drove recently launched semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express train from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal (CSMT) to Solapur station.
Wildlife Bloom – A tiger was spotted in Jharkhand's Palamau Tiger Reserve, after more than three years. The Tigar Reserve was teeming with tigers in the 1970s but reported zero tigers in 2018.
Atmanirbhar Bharat – India can achieve its vision of energy independence by 2047 and switch to near-100% electric vehicle sales by 2035, according to a new study by the US Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab).
