Protecting Wildlife – 2022 was really special for Assam’s rhino conservation efforts. For the first time in 45 years, no Rhinos were poached in Assam during 2022. All due to efforts by Forest Department and State Police.
Flourishing Biodiversity – 17 new bird species were identified in a bird survey conducted at the Silent Valley National Park in Kerala. As many as 30 birders and forest staff took part in the bird survey. The survey was held in association with the Kerala Natural History Society.
Digital Expansion – Kerala has become the first state in India to go fully digital in banking services. Local self-government institutions along with infrastructure development made it possible.
Tightening Security – National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology and Microsoft have teamed up to train young students in Cybersecurity. This will help reduce the talent deficit for cybersecurity professionals and provide employment opportunities for 1,100 underserved.
Green Future – The Union Cabinet has approved ₹19,744-crore for National Green Hydrogen Mission. The mission is expected to add about 125 GW of renewable energy capacity to the country.
